The Challenge

Copt Heath Golf Club, one of the UK’s most prestigious golfing venues, required a flooring upgrade across its utility and maintenance areas. With over 100 years of history, the club wanted a solution that reflected its heritage while meeting modern safety and durability standards.

The project presented several challenges:

• Daily operations at the club could not be disrupted.
• Flooring needed to be robust, anti-slip, and long-lasting.
• Safety hazards including a maintenance pit, access stairs, and multiple transitions had to be addressed.

The Solution

Abacus Flooring Solutions designed and installed a high-performance resin flooring system tailored to the club’s operational needs. Works were completed in just three days, including:

• Day 1: Mechanical grinding and priming of new substrates
• Day 2: Refinement with STR machines and one coat of our 100% recycled plastic to ensure a smooth base.
• Day 3: Safety markings in Abacoat Rapide Safety Yellow (fire hatch, trip hazard, guidance line), followed by a seamless Chelsea Blue High Build topcoat.

Specialist equipment such as industrial grinders, heavy-duty vacuums, and STR machines ensured a precision finish without compromising safety or speed.
